Bromford Development Manager Mark Bridge (Left) believes Carnegie Road shows the success of partnership projects.
Bromford, one of the regions leading affordable housing providers, is set to complete a brand new affordable housing scheme on Carnegie Road, creating 36 new homes for Rowley Regis.
With the first properties nearing completion and ready for November, the development will include 23 homes for affordable rent and 13 for shared ownership.
Fully supported by Sandwell Council and with funding from the Homes and Communities Agency for 26 of the homes, each property on the £4.4million development will meet national sustainable code 3 ensuring they are energy efficient, helping to reduce the utility bills of the homeowner.
The scheme, which will also include 8 garages, is surrounded by woodland and open space and sits in a newly developed suburb of Blackheath, only a short distance from amenities such as Blackheath town center, St Michael's high school and Haden Hill leisure center.
Mark Bridge, Bromford's Development Manager, believes the development will boost the local economy and create much needed affordable housing within the Sandwell borough. He said, "Bromford is delighted to be able to work with our partners to deliver much needed high quality affordable housing to meet the needs of the local community. The successful development of this sort of scheme requires the support and efforts of many parties, but the results will be well worth all the hard work, and a welcome addition to our stock in the area."
The Carengie Road development is one of a number of strategic partnership developments for Bromford, ensure local councils have homes fortheir citizens as need increases. Sandwell Council are also working with Marcity to ensure the sustainability of the site including the longevity of the surrounding woodland.
The final properties are anticipated to be completed during 2013.
