B3Living helped members of Girlguiding South East Hertfordshire celebrate their 102nd birthday with a £2,500 donation. Brian Cooke, B3Living’s Community Development Manager, presented the cheque to a group of young people representing the Division at a local Girlguiding group and enjoyed an evening with them. He said:

“We are always looking to support organisations that offer our young residents positive activities to take part in, which helps create great places for people to live. I had a great time with the local Girlguiding group and was reassured to see dedicated volunteers taking on such an important responsibility for the young people of the borough.”

Girlguiding offers opportunities for girls and young women to develop self-awareness, self-respect and self-confidence. Locally they have 613 young members in the borough supported by a group of adult volunteers.

Jenny Wood, Division Commissioner for Girlguiding South East Hertfordshire, said: “This very generous donation will help us to provide exciting and fun opportunities for the girls and young women of the Borough of Broxbourne, and training for the adult volunteers.”

There are many more girls wishing to join Girlguiding South East Hertfordshire and the Division would like to be able to welcome them but to do this they need more adult volunteers.   If you would like to volunteer and help out please visit www.girlguiding.org.uk/interested or call 0800 1 69 59 01.  Alternatively if you would like to discuss local Guiding please contact Jenny on 01992 300769.
