New appointments strengthen Kier business

Kier has announced the appointment of two new senior bid managers in its maintenance business as part of its growth strategy.

As part of their role, Tony Gough and Andy Selby will have responsibility for the development of an integrated repairs and maintenance service offer for customers, both regionally and nationally.

By ensuring that key learnings and operational efficiencies gained on contracts are recognised and harnessed, the Kier bid process will be further strengthened.

Tony Gough will be responsible for all strategic bidding activity for maintenance services across northern and eastern regions, with Andy Selby providing the same service in the south and west. Their roles will also require working across the wider Kier business to develop a more integrated offer for maintenance and repair services.

Both join Kier with extensive experience of business development in the services market. Tony Gough brings 12 years of best practice knowledge covering facilities management and property which will be crucial in reinforcing Kier’s position within the market. He was previously business development manager at MITIE Strategic Outsourcing cultivating a broad understanding of the outsourcing services market.

Commenting on his new role, Tony said: “Kier has an enviable brand reputation. I’m looking forward to working with the bid team bringing my experience to the housing sector and building upon the company’s existing bid platform to win new business.”

Andy Selby joins Kier from Amey Plc where he was the principal bid manager for the built environment division. Previously he worked across the Amey business as project director in both Amey IT services and the Amey local government business. He brings with him a broad understanding of the services market and best practice asset management covering total facilities management, information technology and business process outsourcing.

Andy said: “I am delighted to have joined a progressive organisation that has demonstrated a significant commitment to growing its business. I look forward to working alongside a strong team to enhance the provision of innovative service solutions that benefit the wider Kier business, adding value to an increasingly demanding and sophisticated marketplace.”
