Help with housing repairs

In a bid to improve its repairs services for tenants on the Langley estate in Middleton, social landlord, Riverside, has moved its technical support specialists to the Lingmell Close office.

Quality maintenance officers were previously working in Riverside’s office located off the Langley estate.  This meant that there wasn’t a locally based technical specialist to deal directly with tenants’ complex repairs queries, which could hold up the repairs process.

Kath Beddows and Liaqat Kahn are now on hand to help colleagues solve repairs issues and to help tenants directly.

Neighbourhood manager, Jeff Allen, said:  “Our tenants felt that we could improve our service to them by moving our quality maintenance officers to our local shops to make them far more accessible.  So that’s just what we’ve done.  Having them based in the heart of the community will speed up our repairs process, as well as taking the pressure of colleagues who are not specialists in this area.”
