Alliance Homes' staff raised almost £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support by joining in on the charity's Biggest Coffee Morning at the end of September. Everybody got into the mood by bringing in cakes, sweets and savoury dishes which were on sale throughout the day. Cake sales took place in the social enterprise's two main offices in Portishead, but goodies were delivered to staff stationed across North Somerset.
Macmillan's coffee morning fundraiser is in its 22nd year and in 2011 raised a massive £10m. Every pound raised helps to ensure families affected by cancer have practical, medical and financial support every step of the way.
Andy Perry, Equality and Diversity Manager and one of the organisers of the coffee morning at Alliance Homes, said: "The event was a resounding success judging by the amount of money we raised and the smiles on peoples' faces as they devoured slices of gorgeous cake! Macmillan Cancer Support does a fantastic job in helping those affected by cancer and we were delighted to offer our support."
