Alliance Homes has teamed up with the Pop-Up Business School and Knightstone Housing Association to help people in the North Somerset area get ahead in business.

Alan Donegan, one of the founders of the Pop-Up Business School, says, "One of the most common things I hear in my role as entrepreneur and enterprise coach is 'I've got this great idea for a business but where do I go from here?'. The Pop-Up Business School has been designed to offer advice on what to do at the very beginning and how to make use of skills people already have."

For two weeks, experts and coaches will be running free sessions on how to come up with a business idea, how to turn these ideas into reality and how to source funding to get a business off the ground. Michael Williams, Business Enterprise Manager at Alliance Homes, sees the Pop-Up Business School as a chance to help improve lives and communities, "People are at the heart of everything we do at Alliance Homes. The current economic climate is making finding employment and managing money difficult. We want to do everything we can help local people and communities. The Pop-Up Business School will encourage innovation and help ideas flourish."

These business skills sessions will offer a unique opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to realise their potential and perhaps provide new local services to meet their community's needs. Pete Davies, Community Empowerment Manager at Knightstone Housing Association, says "We know that many people we work with across North Somerset and beyond have visions of turning their business ideas into reality. We encourage anyone who is interested to come along and find out more."

For locals who think they have what it takes to run a successful business, there will be the chance to get funding of up to £250 to get their business up and running.

The Pop-Up Business school will run from 1st - 12th October at the Motex Centre in Weston-super-Mare. More details can be found at www.popupbusinessschool.co.uk/weston.
