HA joins with NHS to help tenants with complex needs
A London housing association has formed a partnership with the NHS to bring health services to tenants with complex needs.
One Housing Group - which manages over 14,000 homes - announced its union with Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust at Tile House Kings Cross, a new service that provides 15 self-contained supported housing flats.
The partnership aims to provide comprehensive and integrated services to people with complex needs who are usually placed away from their host borough.
It is hoped the partnership will see costs drop, increase staff flexibility and provide a higher quality alternative to hospital and care placements.
Kevin Beirne, Group Director of Housing, Care and Support at One Housing Group, said: “This strategic partnership will allow One Housing Group to build on our existing care and support offer and extend our high quality service and building offer to a much wider range of people. This innovative partnership will integrate health and social care services and is essential in delivering modern, health services which provide greater customer benefits.”
Wendy Wallace, Chief Executive at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, added: “We are delighted to be working with One Housing Group to help meet the specific needs of service users. The new King’s Cross service will enable us to provide specialised care and support in a way that best helps people in their recovery.”
