L&H Homes is celebrating the handover of a new £4.5 million development in the market town of Long Sutton.

Anfield Road, off Lime Walk, was built by Westleigh Developments and consists of 40 houses and bungalows, providing much needed affordable housing for local people. The 32 rental units have already been allocated to people with a local connection to the area by South Holland District Council. The remaining eight properties are available through L&H Homes’ Shared Ownership and Deferred Equity schemes.

£1.9 million investment was provided by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), the national housing and regeneration agency for England, and has ensured that the properties achieved a high environmental standard –constructed using timber frame and each fitted with solar panels for water heating. The panels will help to reduce fuel poverty and the overall carbon footprint of the homes.

Residents also benefit from landscaped public space and a children’s recreational area which has been provided by Westleigh Developments and in the future will be adopted and maintained by South Holland District Council.

Mike Hardy, Managing Director, L&H Homes, said: “This is a great success for L&H Homes, offering high quality homes in a challenging market. We are delighted to have provided so many new homes to local families in Long Sutton. We would particularly like to thank, Westleigh Developments, South Holland District Council and the HCA for their close partnership working.”

Sandhya Ward, Area Manager at the HCA, said: “The successful completion ofAnfield Roaddemonstrates what can be achieved through strong partnership working. There was a clear need for high quality, affordable homes in the area and working closely together we have managed to deliver a scheme that will no doubt prove popular with local people.”

Mark Rockley, Surveying Director of Westleigh Developments said: “We are very pleased that this has been another example of a successful  development between ourselves and L&H Homes and one which was delivered to the agreed time scales to the benefit of the residents of the Long Sutton area"
