Friendship Care and Housing’s (Friendship’s) Valuing our Workforce group (VOW) including members of the HR and Training teams will be visiting their offices based in Birmingham, Walsall, Derby and Bedworth during September and October to promote health and well-being to staff.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) estimate that work related stress, depression and anxiety equates to £3.7 billion and £13.5 million days lost per year in the UK alone.

Friendship’s health and wellbeing tour will encourage staff to take more care of their health with lots of information and advice on offer. The event will raise awareness of Friendships ‘High Five’, these are the five most common causes of staff sickness with hints and tips on how to prevent them. There are lots of fun competitions for staff to get involved in and the opportunity to enjoy a healthy lunch or snack.

Rachel Bennett, Friendship’s HR Manager said “We have around 500 staff, these people are our greatest asset and we want to do all we can to help them stay fit and healthy.  The aim of the tour is to increase staff morale and motivation, reduce sickness absence, to increase performance levels and staff retention. The health and well-being tour will give staff the best support possible and we are confident that it will be well received and prove a great success”.
