Blakeney Community Green Project superstar Rose Peaty does everything in her power to ensure others enjoy themselves – even on her own birthday!
Rose shared her 70th with friends and the community at the Two Rivers community summer event in Blakeney Village Hall last Wednesday.
Not content with sharing her birthday fun, she gave out free chocolate treats for everyone of the dozens of villagers who turned up to enjoy a day out face painting, bouncing in bouncy castles, eating burgers and sharing ideas for the future of the community.
The Two Rivers team reciprocated, presenting the kind-hearted community champion with flowers and a special birthday cake.
The not for profit community homes group works closely with Rose on a host of local initiatives: including making the massively successful bid for £30,000 of lottery funding for the development of the village’s new community Otter Holt Café and all weather activity trail.
There are 52 Two Rivers families living in homes in Blakeney and Awre. The organisation provides 3,800 low cost homes for local people, helping them afford to stay in the communities they love.
Two Rivers Community Initiatives Officer Jane Cordier said Rose was at the centre of community life in Blakeney and beyond.
“If there is something good going on in the area you can bet that Rose will be either be behind it or involved. She is an extraordinary woman. Rose is a human dynamo and a true community champion– kind hearted, caring and absolutely determined.
“We were absolutely chuffed that Rose wanted to be with us on her birthday. We work so closely together for the good of the local community. Even on her birthday she is the one who continues to give. What a woman!”
