Friendship Care and Housing (Friendship) are working in partnership with Groundwork UK and other local partners in a bid to open up and transform green spaces on some of Friendship’s larger estates to the benefit of the community and the families who live there.
Friendship and Groundwork UK invited residents in Crewton Gardens, Alveston, Derby to join them for a family fun day yesterday (Wed 22nd August). There were plenty of activities on offer for everyone and it was a great opportunity to meet up and talk to people about developing the overall master plan further.
The day delivered on its promise with a bouncy castle, face painting and lots of sporting activities, competitions and prizes for the kids. The grown-ups got to meet up with some of Friendship’s staff, local police officers and Lakers (Friendship’s contractors). There were advice stalls available including important information for customers on the upcoming Welfare Reform.
“It’s been a great day, lots of people turned up to enjoy the activities and sunshine and it’s created a real sense of community spirit” said Sarah Hubbard, Customer Involvement Officer at Friendship.
