Travelling across seven London boroughs and meeting with thousands of residents, that’s the challenge faced by one London housing association as it launched its summer roadshow at Wadsworth Court in Waltham Forest this week.
Housing officers from asra Housing Group welcomed residents, family and friends to a fun-filled day of face painting, Mehndi hand painting, penalty shoot outs, a bouncy castle and a £300 gift voucher prize draw.
asra staff were on hand to meet and talk to residents about their homes and communal amenities, as well as discussing ways people can get involved locally.
Fire and police officers were also present offering advice and listening to local concerns.
Emma Rich, Service Delivery Manager at asra Housing Group, said: “We encourage residents to get involved in shaping our services at a local level. By working together, we continue to improve the services offered.”
Thames Water and e-on donated energy saving items which were handed to residents, including shower timers and plug sockets to help increase energy efficiency in homes.
And asra contractor Pinnacle sponsored a ‘Time To Veg Out’ stand, offering plant pots and vegetable seeds, along with advice on planting and growing.
Dean Whytock, Pinnacle’s Contracts Manager, said: “We wanted to do our bit for the local community and we were pleasantly surprised how interested people were in growing their own produce.”
The next stops for the customer open days will be in Lismore Park, Slough, and Alliance Close, Hounslow, next month.
