A group of staff from Alliance Homes saddled up for a 100-mile bike ride to raise money for charity. The riders took in the sights of North Somerset including Clevedon, Bath and Thornbury before heading back to Portishead for the finish.

The 21 riders raised around £3,000 for the Alliance Homes' Charitable Fund, which has been established to help individuals in most need.

Steve Zebedee, one of the organisers, said: "Everyone who took part is so pleased to have raised so much money for the Alliance Homes Charitable Fund, and it is something we will definitely do again. All the money raised will go into the fund, which will help people like Charles, who was homeless when he first came to us. As well as finding him somewhere to live, we were able to furnish his new home with things like blankets, bedding, cutlery and plates. Often a small gesture can make a huge difference and this money means that we can help many more individuals in need."
