New aluminium windows supplied by Total Glass
Thermally-efficient and low-maintenance aluminium windows were supplied and installed by fenestration specialist Total Glass at Alderley Edge School for Girls, a leading independent day school in Cheshire.
Manufactured using the Sapa Dualframe Si system, the 75mm bottom hung, open-in windows installed in the 1920s buildings were fitted with actuators for easy operation. More than 100 windows, plus two curtain walls fabricated from the Sapa Elegance 52 System, have replaced original old single-glazed steel ones to provide better insulation and to help reduce energy bills.
The large new windows also featured SKN 174 high-performance glass for optimal solar control and thermal efficiency to maintain a comfortable ambient temperature in the classrooms.
Working to tight schedules, Total Glass successfully completed the installation throughout the one to three-storey stepped blocks on time and within budget. Carried out during the summer holidays, this ensured the classrooms were ready before the start of the new school term.
Total Glass works closely with architects, contractors and clients in supplying high-quality, high-performance aluminium and PVC-U windows and doors for all types of domestic, commercial and educational projects.
