Emma
One of Friendship Care and Housing’s (Friendship) support workers faced her ultimate fear – heights – all in the name of a good cause. Emma Sale, who is based at Friendship’sDerwent Roadscheme, took part in a charity skydive and jumped from a plane at 12,000 feet.
Brave Emma raised a total of £500 in sponsorship money. The cash will be split equally, with £250 going towards the Warwickshire Christmas party for service users while the rest will be put to good use in the sensory room atDerwent Road.
Emma said: “I felt a huge sense of achievement because facing my ultimate fear helped to raise over £500! I want to thank everyone who has sponsored me and egged me on along the way!”
Staff have been raising money for the sensory room for several years which has enabled them to install a summerhouse in the back garden. This is now being renovated to accommodate specialist sensory equipment for the service users.
