Spire Homes got in to the festive season for Higham Ferrers’ Christmas celebration. This was an opportunity for local organisations and businesses to come together to give their own representation of a Christmas song.  The event was organised in conjunction with the turning on of the Christmas lights.

Spires Homes recreated the well known song, ‘When Santa got stuck up the Chimney’, with the presents falling out of Santa’s sack representing gifts to the community. Over local 38 organisations were represented and donations from visitors will go towards the repairs required to maintain St Mary’s church.

The presents represent the different services Spire offer to support tenants; such as Care and Repair emergency fund; Tenants Assistance Scheme where they have helped over 100 tenants with gardening and decorating; and Community Grants Fund, which has awarded £21,000 funding for projects such as sports facilities, helped set up a children’s playgroup and supported a youth project.

Carol Underwood, Head of Supported Housing Service said, “Spire Homes are keen to support the local community, its facilities and architecture. The event was a great opportunity to do this, whilst raising awareness of our services.”
