Riverside tenants at the Moss Green Village Estate along with the Lord Mayor of Stoke on Trent have raised money for local charity – Donna Louise Hospice for Children.
The Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councillor Terence Follows attended a fundraising coffee morning event this week organised by the Resident Association of Moss Green Village Estate at the Riverside Tenant Resource Centre.
Together with funds gained at a recent fish and chip supper, the Moss Green Residents’ Association raised £440 towards the Donna Louise Hospice for children.
Key organiser of fundraising events and Chair of the Resident Association Pat Roberts says: “The charity has been supported by the association for several years, and with the help of the residents and tenants at the Moss Green Village, Riverside and other voluntary bodies fundraising for the charity, the hospice has managed to fully fund all its beds.”
Pat also mentioned how these events can help build confidence in people to attend social events, she went on to say: “These events are more than just fundraising; they are great opportunity to encourage people to attend and get to know the local community.”
