Breaking Down Age Barriers

Students from Franklin College and residents at Cranwell Court, a care home in Grimsby run by housing and care provider Longhurst & Havelok Homes (L&H Homes), got into the Christmas spirit early this year with a day of Christmas card making on 18^th November.

The fifteen students who visited the care home spent the day with residents to help them design and put together their cards. The trip was organised between Franklin College and L&H Homes staff at Cranwell Court.

Sally Eddom, L&H Homes Manager of the care home said, “Days like this help break down age barriers and provide an enjoyable day for everyone involved. We enjoy a good working relationship with Franklin College and often have students visit for activity days like this or for work experience.”

Audrey Walters (pictured) said, “I had a lovely day. It’s really nice to have young people visit, and they were full of ideas for the Christmas cards! I always enjoy meeting new people and everyone who came was very polite and friendly. I’d like to say thank you to the students and to everyone who helped organise the day, it was great fun.”
