Talkative David Wagg has raised £105 for Children in Need with a sponsored silence.

David is a resident at Ashley Court in Lincoln, a purpose built care home for young adults with physical and learning disabilities which is run by Longhurst & Havelok Homes (L&H Homes).

Chatty David’s task was to stay silent for a whole eight hours – from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening – and even a mention on local radio didn’t get a peep out of him!

Of his achievement, David said: “I really wanted to do something for Children in Need because it’s a fantastic cause. I knew a sponsored silence would be a real challenge for me and I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored me!”

Jim Kelsey is the Manager of Ashley Court and knows David well. Jim said: “We were very surprised when David said he was going to do a sponsored silence- he’s usually one of our most talkative residents so to see him silent for so long was very impressive. Raising this much money for charity by himself is fantastic and we are all extremely proud of him!”
