Mr Istvan and Miss Jochin celebrate with Christa Ripley and Sarah Appleby
A surprised Hungarian family received a blooming lovely gift to welcome them to Telford as part of Sanctuary Housing’s National Customer Service Week celebrations.
To mark National Customer Service Week, which aims to raise awareness of customer service and the essential role it plays in organisations, each Sanctuary Housing office chose to represent a different country as part of an Olympic-themed week of activities. The local Telford branch chose to represent Hungary.
Asluck had it, a new Hungarian family were scheduled to move into a Sanctuary home that very week. Trust coordinator, Jim Hakim, and lettings officer, Sarah Appleby, jumped at the chance to mark this incredible coincidence.
When the Horvath family arrived to collect the keys to their new home, they were greeted by a Hungarian flag and presented with a bouquet of flowers to welcome them to the community. These celebrations were followed by Hungarian drinks and cake.
Mother-of-two, Miss Andrea Jochin, said: “It’s great to have a new house and be made to feel so welcome.”
Regional manager for the Midlands, Christa Ripley, added: “National Customer Service Week is a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate just how important our customers are to us.
“We could not believe it when we discovered that a new Hungarian family were moving into one of our homes, just after we had chosen to represent Hungary.
“This incredible coincidence was a great chance for us to welcome the Horvath family to the local neighbourhood, whilst really highlighting how much we care about our residents.”
