Essex Crimestoppers has launched a campaign to encourage residents to pass on information about burglaries and stolen goods. Residents who pass on information to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 will not have to give their name and they could get a cash reward.
30,000 postcards were put through letterboxes at homes in the two towns this week, one asking if residents know anything about any burglaries or if they have information about anyone handling stolen goods and a second postcard tells residents about Crimestoppers’ reward system for information. Up to £1,000 can be claimed for any information which leads to the arrest and charge of those responsible for burglaries.
