Two hurt after Staffordshire dental laboratory explosion

Two people have been taken to hospital, one by air ambulance, after an explosion at a dental laboratory in south Staffordshire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Bilbrook Road, Codsall, shortly before 2.45pm today.
A West Midland Ambulance Service spokesman said: “There was significant damage to the building. One woman had hip and abdominal pain. She was taken to the waiting Midlands Air Ambulance where she was examined by the BASICS Emergency Doctor before being flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“11 people had been taken across the road to a chemists where the BASICS doctor then triaged them all, discharging them at scene. One woman later developed neck pain and she was taken by land ambulance to New Cross Hospital.
“We would like to thank the chemists for letting those affected by this incident onto their premises, providing them with a safe place to stay.”
