A new partnership between Two Rivers Housing and Travis Perkins has been formed to deliver a cost-effective and efficient repairs service to the homes of the association’s tenants throughout Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.  The partnership was launched this week at the purpose built premises on the Valley Road Trading Estate in Cinderford.

The Travis Perkins sales area in Cinderford has been significantly developed to provide a dedicated depot, materials supply counter, car parking and secure storage for the Two Rivers Housing Neighbourhood Repairs Team.  Existing jobs have been secured and it hoped that two new jobs will be created in the future as a result of the deal.

The association currently spends over £300,000 per annum on materials for the day to day repairs to its 3600 homes.  The new contract will help to ensure that high standards are achived and that materials are available promptly from the Cinderford and other local Travis Perkins branches.

Following an extensive tendering process that involved a panel made up of tenant representatives, Travis Perkins was selected as the supplier of choice for Two Rivers Housing’s Responsive Repairs Team. Tenants and staff overseeing the process were looking to match a customer service focus with cost effectiveness.  The panel were able to select Travis Perkins because they were able to demonstrate fast and efficient response rates, value for money, along with access to appropriate tools and materials needed to complete over 10,000 repairs every year.

Guests at the launch included Two Rivers Housing tenants, representatives of Forest of Dean District Council and the Cinderford Regeneration Board, as well as staff from both Two Rivers and Travis Perkins.

Garry King, Chief Executive of Two Rivers Housing said:
“Our commitment to delivering timely, cost-effective and high quality repairs will be enhanced through this new partnership. We hope this arrangement will benefit our tenants by enhancing our ability to provide ‘right first time’ repairs as well as play our role in supporting the local economy and the regeneration of the Cinderford area.”

Two Rivers tenant, Ann Christian said:
“This is a really wonderful partnership which will help Two Rivers provide a better repairs service, as a tenant, I feel this is one of the most vital services so it’s important to get it right.”

Damion Rothner, National Sales Manager for Travis Perkins added:
“Travis Perkins is committed to working with our partners in the long term through mutually beneficial agreements that add real value and deliver efficiencies for both parties. We are delighted to have been selected by Two Rivers Housing and look forward to working together over the coming years.”

Councillor Graham Morgan, Chair of the Cinderford Regeneration Board added: “This will surely be a very successful collaboration between one of the Board’s major partners and Travis Perkins, a growing company that has been serving the town and the wider area for many years.”
