Open Day at Learning Centre offers disabled people the chance to try something new

Papworth Trust’s Learning for Life and Work Centre in Cambridge is holding an open day on Friday 20 August, 2pm – 7pm.

The Centre, in Hawthorn Way Cambridge runs a variety of daytime courses for disabled people or mental health issues. Visitors will be invited to meet the people who use the Centre and see the type of activities and courses on offer:

• learning new skills such as cookery, money skills and social networking
• activities such as gardening and Wii Sport
• community based activities

“The Open Day will give visitors the chance to really get involved.” says the Centre’s  John Aves. “They can have a go at the art, gardening and cake decorating, workshop activities, visit the computer suite or take part in sports activities.
