Residents clean up their neighbourhood Residents clean up their neighbourhood

More from Sanctuary Group

Sanctuary Housing staff and residents from an estate in Whinmoor, Leeds, joined forces recently to do their bit for the environment and clean up their neighbourhood.

Residents from Willow Garth Avenue and Willow Garth Close rolled up their sleeves in a bid to brighten up the area with the support of Sanctuary staff.

Sanctuary paid for the cost of four large skips to be placed on the estate and together residents and staff collected rubbish. The hard work of everyone involved led to two additional skips arriving later in the day and their combined efforts saw all six skips being filled.

Wendy Banks, Sanctuary’s Regional Manager for the North, said: “Clean up days provide a great opportunity for residents to spend time getting to know their neighbours and developing relationships. The event has generated a really positive atmosphere among the whole community and will ensure the estate remains a desirable and popular place to live.”
