Business Link West Midlands (BLWM) has launched a new programme of free workshops aimed at giving the region’s companies a helping hand over the coming months.

Leading experts will head-up a series of events which are running until December. The workshops will cover how to generate new business by phone; why promotions can be cost effective and how they work best for your business; contingency planning and creating an innovative niche for your company in the market place.

But for those who can’t attend the daytime workshops, BLWM is also staging an online downloadable seminar called ‘Making the web work for you’ - explaining how to make the web work for your business.

A BLWM spokesperson said: “We’re pleased to be running these workshops tailored towards businesses that have been trading for at least 18 months.

“It is important that we and the businesses that we support are looking to the future. We want to provide the right level of support to businesses that will help them to survive the current economic climate and enable them to grow and flourish in the future. Each themed workshop provides businesses with a handy toolkit to make the most of their existing resources and tap into alternative support they may not know exists.

“We are promoting these events so that companies know what help and support is available to them from Business Link West Midlands.”

Workshops will be taking place throughout October on the following dates:

October 22 – ‘Creating an Innovative Culture’, Wolverhampton, 9.15am-12noon;
October 22 – ‘Promote your Business Effectively’, Ross-on-Wye, 9.15am-12noon;
October 28 – ‘Creating an Innovative Culture’, Newcastle-under-Lyme, 9.15am-12noon;
October 28 - ‘Promote your Business Effectively’, Shrewsbury, 9.15am-12noon;
October 29 – ‘Creating an Innovative Culture’, Kenilworth, 9.15am-12noon.

Anyone unable to attend the events in person can take advantage of a separate online video workshop.
