A calendar bringing together themes of the environment and diversity is being launched this week.

The Environment Agency, Brampton, will launch the calendar; it’s their latest initiative to raise money for leading disability charity, Papworth Trust. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar, which is being sold for £5.00, will help their local charity of choice to achieve equality, choice and independence for disabled people.

Photographs for the calendar were chosen through a competition which was open to staff. Entries had to demonstrate both diversity and the environment. The winning photographs, which represent diversity include disability, religion, race, gender, age and faith, will appear in the 2010 calendar.

Alison Pennycook, Regional Diversity Coordinator at the Environment Agency, said: “We are really pleased with the calendar, the quality of the pictures are great. It just proves how much people want to get involved with helping to raise funds for Papworth Trust and the fantastic work they do promote equality for disabled people.”

Mandy Barker, Area Fundraising Manager at Papworth Trust said: “A big thank you has to go to the Environment Agency. They continually work hard to raise money for Papworth Trust and the calendar represents the latest in their efforts. All of their hard work helps us to make a real difference to people’s lives.”

The calendars cost £5.00 each, with all proceeds going to Papworth Trust. If you would like a calendar, please contact Alison Pennycook by e-mail (alison.pennycook@environment-agency.gov.uk).
