Salisbury Tourist Information Centre in Fish Row is riding high after picking up two gold accolades in the annual South West Tourism Excellence Awards scheme.
At a ceremony on 16 October, the TIC was named south west TIC of the Year. They were also presented with the TIC Customer Service award for the south west.
Jane Fry, TIC Manager collected the awards.
Jane Fry commented; “We were one of three finalists up for the TIC of the year award so felt that we had a good chance of success.
“We pride ourselves in the quality of our staff and the service they offer, but we were completely unaware that we were in the running for the customer service award which made this one a huge, but very welcome surprise.
“Getting this award was particularly gratifying as it was judged completely anonymously by a series of ‘mystery shopper’ approaches by email, personal visit and telephone on behalf of the judging panel.”
Cllr Penny Brown, Salisbury District Council portfolio holder for planning and economic development said; “To win one award is great but to pick up two such prestigious accolades is absolutely fantastic.
Getting these awards is a tremendous achievement for the staff at the TIC and an example of teamwork at its best.”
