Reporters and photographers are invited to attend the announcement of the winner of this year's I'm a Councillor, Get me out of here.

The online event is really getting tough. Since 9 October councillors have been facing questions and chatting online to young people in the Colchester area. During the course of the last week, these future young voters have been voting for the councillor they like most, and those with the least votes have been evicted.

The winner of the competition will be announced at a media call tomorrow [Friday 20 October] at Stanway School at 12.45pm when the final two councillors will visit a citizenship to hear the result of the poll.

Cllr Margaret Kimberley, Colchester Borough Council's portfolio holder who take a lead on young people's issues, said: "The event has proved to be a real success with local schools, particularly as it fits in well with their democracy lessons. The battle has been hard fought and I'm looking forward to seeing who the winner will be."

Reporters or photographers attending the media call should ask for James Mitchell on arrival.
