Colchester Borough Council's Enterprise team is asking businesses in the borough to help measure the health of Colchester's economy.

The Business Health Survey is the first in-depth business survey of its size undertaken in the borough.

Councillor Don Henshall, portfolio holder for business, said: "Colchester has a buoyant and broad based economy which is well positioned with the Olympics taking place in London in 2012, regeneration in the borough and the proposed expansion of the local ports and Stansted airport.

"This survey will give us an idea of what the current position is for businesses in the town and hopefully by making it an annual survey we can measure and track the performance of the local economy over time which will help us deliver the assistance to best help our businesses to grow and prosper."

The survey, which will take about 15 minutes to complete is being carried out by Ask for Research and is available online at www.colchester.gov.uk/economicdevelopment, by email colchester@askforresearch.co.uk or by telephone on 01206 282107.
