Salisbury District Council’s parks team will shortly be asking local people how they think Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Churchill Gardens and Hudson's Field could be improved or better managed.

Questionnaires will be sent to all households close to each site at the end of October. Questionnaires will also be handed out to park users as well as being available on the council’s website at www.salisbury.gov.uk/parks-management. The forms are also available by calling Esther Smeardon on 01722 434628.

The consultation is the next stage of a major exercise that began in May when Victoria Park was put under the spotlight.

The feedback from this consultation will be used to draw up management plans for all of the city’s parks and green spaces.

Salisbury District Parks Manager, Reg Williams, said: “Around 500 people contributed to the consultation on Victoria Park earlier this year and I am looking forward to another good response to our call for help with the future of Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Churchill Gardens and Hudson's Field.”

Chairman of the City Area Community Committee, Cllr Steve Fear, said: “Salisbury has some wonderful parks and green spaces and it is vital that we manage this resource effectively, not just for ourselves, but also for future generations.

“I hope that as many people as possible will take the time to make their views known.”
