Survey to steer the future of borough housing

People living in newly built homes are being asked why they live where they do to help Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council plan future housing development.

The council has sent a questionnaire to people living in nearly 600 houses built throughout the borough in the last two and a half years. 

Borough planners want to find out where people moved from and why they chose to live in a particular area and property.

Sean Walsh, Senior Planning Officer, said: “Although it is a fairly simple survey, the results are very useful to us in building up a picture of why people are moving to new properties in the borough, where they have come from and where else they were considering moving to.

“I am sure the findings will be fascinating and they will certainly help us in planning where we put new housing, its type and character. The survey is anonymous and we will put the findings on our website early next year,” he added.
