Residents and local businesses in Salisbury District can now view their council tax and business rate account details and correspondence online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The information available includes property ratings, payment records, outstanding balances and any discounts or exemptions. Interactive request forms also mean that changes of address can be logged, payment methods changed and discounts or exemptions applied for online.

Phil Ruddle, Head of Revenue and Benefit Services at Salisbury District Council said; "The process is very straightforward and user friendly. It gives residents and local businesses immediate access to information and reduces the need to visit council offices or wait for information to be mailed to them.

Of course, information security is of paramount importance and users must register their details and obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to get access to the information.”

Salisbury District Council’s deputy portfolio holder for Resources, Cllr Sara Willan, said; "This new system is a significant step forward offering both improved levels of service to customers and efficiency savings to the council through the time we save by interacting with residents and businesses electronically. "
