The Tory-led coalition's help to buy scheme has been slammed after it emerged that across 20 London constituencies the policy has not yet helped anyone to buy a home.
The poor performance has led the Labour party to brand the policy "a flop".
However, the government has hit back and claimed that help to buy has helped 2,798 across the whole of London.
One of the capital's constituencies that it yet to see a single person buy a home with help to buy is Tooting, whose MP, Sadiq Khan, Labour’s shadow minister for London, said: “Those benefiting most from this government are foreign oligarchs who can pay extortionate London prices, not ordinary Londoners who can’t afford to buy their own homes."
