Some of the North East’s largest local authorities have been learning about the benefits that Prepaid Cards can deliver for the public sector at a seminar hosted by payment experts allpay.
During the event, held at the Village Hotel Newcastle, delegates discovered how Prepaid Cards can offer a modern, cost effective and efficient method of payment.
Richard Roberts, Head of Prepaid Card Sales at allpay, led the Herefordshire-based company’s presentation, providing an overview of the company and a comprehensive insight into how the Prepaid Card works.
In the 30 minute presentation, Richard explained how the allpay Prepaid MasterCard Card offers clients a secure and financially inclusive alternative to benefit cheques. He also focused on allpay’s ability to offer clients a responsive and end-to-end service from its fully accredited MasterCard production and bureau facility.
He said:
The day was an excellent opportunity to meet with local authorities in the North East to understand the requirements of these local authorities and the challenges they are facing within the current environment. Through hosting such events we can deliver the products and services that meet the exact needs of our clients.
During the morning guest speakers James Baggott, Business Leader Prepaid at MasterCard, and Ed Cox, Director of ippr north, also took the floor – James providing an industry view of the Prepaid Card market, and Ed explaining the work ippr north do as the North of England’s dedicated thinktank.
Local authorities attending the seminar included Gateshead Council, Newcastle Upon Tyne City Council and Middlesbrough Borough Council.
