allpay's Sara wins key industry award

Sara West, Head of Commercial Card and Bureau Sales at allpay, has been named Industry Contributor of the Year at the 2010 Prepaid Card Awards.

At a glittering London ceremony, which attracted business names from across the globe, Sara, from Ledbury in Herefordshire, received the award following a vote on the night by attendees.

More than 450 people were in attendance and chose to recognise the efforts of Harben & West, an organisation which Sara runs in her own time with industry friend and customer Lindsay Harben.

Created in 2007, Harben & West’s networking events enable professionals from across the prepaid card industry to support each other and network in an informal environment. Free to attend, the purpose of their events is inclusiveness and they attracted more than 70 senior executives to the last event held in London.

Sara comments:

Lindsay and I have worked extremely hard to build a network to support this growing market and have held events right across Europe, it’s a huge honour to be recognised for our achievements amongst a room full of people who contribute to the success of the prepaid industry themselves. We are absolutely delighted to have won.

allpay was one of four companies shortlisted in the Best Prepaid Manufacturer award category despite having just 18 months experience in this competitive sector. Other categories shortlisted included big names such as Asda, Comet, New Look and Starbucks.
