allpay, the payments specialist based in Hereford, has been working closely with its local government and housing association clients to create the perfect payment system to help the sector reduce customer arrears.

The company’s product Callpay - Payment Management System – has been greatly enhanced by allpay’s in-house team to incorporate a new instant payment feature making it even more crucial to the modern collections office.

In today’s climate, organisations within the public and private sectors are under constant pressure to provide a flexible payment service that addresses the problems of arrears, as well as financial exclusion.

Renowned for being responsive to the needs of its clients, allpay set about making the impossible possible creating Callpay – a payment management system that helps save time, cuts costs and reduces arrears, yet also offers individuals the greatest range of ways to pay.

Ian Bell, Head of National Sales and Client Care comments “Callpay is a great tool for clients to use in meeting the Audit Commission’s current requirements. At the moment, their focus is for local authorities and housing associations to take payments more quickly than they currently do, to prevent tenants from building arrears. With the innovative new ‘instant payment’ feature, clients will not only be able to satisfy this requirement, they will also be able to offer a much more convenient service to their customers.”

Instant payment means allpay’s clients can create a bill payment account on their system, order a Payment Reference Card and take a payment from their customer in one immediate process – meaning bill payers avoid falling into arrears from day 1.

“Having developed a system that is designed with its clients in mind, allpay is once again leading the way within the payment industry – tackling the issues faced within the public sector,” concludes Mr Bell.
