SEARCHFLOW RENEWS LICENSE TO SUPPLY AUTHORATIVE LAND AND PROPERTY SEARCHES THROUGH NLIS
Land Data, the NLIS regulator, has today announced SearchFlow, one of the UK’s largest providers of electronic conveyancing search information, has renewed its license to provide authoritative electronic property searches through the National Land Information Service (NLIS), for a ten year period.

NLIS is the only regulated electronic land and property information process in the market. The NLIS channels operate under strict licence agreements which protect the users, clients and the data providers, this creates an environment which is secure, robust and fully supported. NLIS electronically connects essential data providers such as local authorities, water companies and the coal authority via the NLIS Hub to the licensed channels. Over 15,000 conveyancing professionals currently subscribe to an NLIS channel via their desktop, receiving electronic property searches in a fraction of the time it takes to process a paper based search.

Through NLIS, SearchFlow provides more than 80 separate due diligence searches, for both the residential and commercial conveyancing markets.

Land Data CEO Jan Boothroyd commented: “We are delighted SearchFlow has renewed its NLIS channel license for a further ten years. The property searches landscape is changing and the market demands more cost effective propositions from reliable and secure sources. Through NLIS, SearchFlow has and will continue to develop new and enhanced search services which will expand the NLIS market and uultimately help improve the home buying process.”

Andrew Lloyd, Managing Director, SearchFlow, comments: “We are embarking on an exciting new chapter in the history of electronic searches through the NLIS channel. SearchFlow has always been a proud supporter of NLIS and has led the market in delivering secure, complete official local authority Con29 and other searches to thousands of clients nationwide. We look forward to demonstrating ever more innovation, passionate customer support and value, ensuring that NLIS is seen by legal professionals as the smart way to access the best quality search information for due diligence.”

Notes to Editors
Land Data regulates NLIS, which was set up to support local authorities (LAs) and other property information holders in England and Wales in their move from manual to electronic provision of property information services. The NLIS Hub is connected to all local authorities in England and Wales, Land Registry, the Coal Authority and other sources of land and property information. The information is distributed by NLIS Channels to around 15,000 subscribed solicitors and licensed conveyancers. Since it began operation in 2001, more that 17 million searches have been processed by the NLIS Hub. Land Data became a Community Interest Company in January 2006 in recognition of its commitment to making electronic property search information accessible to the general public and thereby improving the home buying process.
