Boris Johnson is sexier than both Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, according to visitors to Madame Tussauds waxwork museum.

The Mayor of London was voted the second most kissable figure of all those whose waxworks are on display at the London tourist attraction.

The floppy-haired Tory politician beat heartthrob actors Pitt and Depp as well as actor George Clooney, singer Justin Timberlake and handsome royal Prince Harry to the top spot.

Actor Angelina Jolie and supermodel Kate Moss were also further down the list than Mr Johnson.

In a poll of 300 visitors, the only celebrity who more respondents wanted to kiss than Mr Johnson was High School Musical star Zac Efron.

Efron gained 20% of the votes while Mr Johnson gained 15%.

Depp came third, with a 14% share of the votes.

Liz Edwards, PR manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: "We encourage our guests to get really up close and personal with our celebrities and there is a lot of puckering up.

"Some stars seem to get a lot more love than others though, and there are certain figures that our maintenance team are constantly removing lipstick from. "Boris Johnson has quickly become one of the most popular personalities. Guests just can't resist giving him a cheeky peck on the cheek."

When the same visitors were asked which famous figures they would most like to kiss whose waxworks were not on display at the museum, US President Barack Obama received the most votes, kicking footballer David Beckham into second place.

His wife, singer Victoria Beckham, fared much worse, being voted number two in the top ten celebrities respondents would least like to kiss.

Only glamour model Katie Price was a less popular choice.

Mr Johnson said: "I am somewhat bewildered, but flattered by this vote. But I suspect that the waxwork is getting far more amorous attention from Londoners than me!"
