A registrar who has conducted some of Camden’s most famous weddings was among 100 members of council staff honoured for their long service to the borough.
Susan Bloom, who has been a Camden Council registrar for 25 years, has married the likes of Sting and Trudie Styler (pictured) and Chris Evans and Carol McGiffin, as well as registering many of
Camden’s celebrity babies, including the children of Gail Porter, Simon Le Bon and David Gray.
Susan Bloom, Camden Council registrar, said: “Camden is a vibrant borough and every day is different.
"I like learning new parts to the job as it changes and since 2005 we’ve been enjoying conducting many of the borough’s civil partnerships.”
Members of staff who have been with the Council for 25 years were recognised at the awards ceremony hosted by the Leader of the Council Keith Moffitt, Mayor of Camden Nurul Islam and Director of
Organisation Development, Mike Cooke.
Other members of staff who attended included those honoured for their service to Camden’s libraries, schools and sheltered housing.
Staff members who have been working in local government for 25 years were also awarded certificates in recognition of their commitment to public service.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Keith Moffitt said: “One of the Council’s greatest strengths is the dedication and commitment of its staff. It's great to see so many wonderful people
who have devoted their careers to helping the people of Camden.
"Their awards are thoroughly deserved.”
