TWO Tourist Information Centres (TIC) in Richmondshire together raised more than £400 for charity at their Yorkshire Day celebrations.

Richmond TIC organised a Yorkshire quiz and other activities including Guess the Sheeps Name and Count the Sweets and collected £272 for Riding for the Disabled.

Leyburn TIC held Name the Picture and Guess the Feather competitions, raising £200 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

A spokesman for Richmondshire District Council, which runs both TICs, said: Were really grateful to all the residents and visitors in Richmond and Leyburn who helped make our Yorkshire Day fundraising such a success.
