The Trident Social Investment Group is putting professionalism at the heart of its staff development programme and is currently sponsoring three members of its frontline staff to enable them to attain a Masters degree in Housing.
Whilst investment in the housing sector’s workforce is in decline, the Trident Social Investment Group (TSIG) is living its values, by ensuring that its staff are capable of peak performance when delivering services to residents. Equipping frontline staff with a full range of skills and knowledge to provide an effective service to residents, will ensure that the communities the group serves benefit from this and receive a high quality and reliable service.
John Morris, Trident Social Investment Group’s Chief Executive said, ‘Investing in our staff is a key part of investing in the Trident Social Investment Group’s future. With austerity measures taking their toll, the operating environment is becoming increasingly challenging. As well as providing high quality services, we need appropriately trained staff to engage with the communities we serve across the Midlands, who understand community needs and are able to support them.
Tahir Ahmed, Trident Social Investment Group’s Community Engagement Co-ordinator said, ‘I have worked in housing for 10 years and it is very rewarding because you actually make a difference to people’s lives. The MSc Housing qualification will provide me with more knowledge and greater confidence in my ability to deliver a high quality service to residents.’
Hannah Wareing, Trident Social Investment Group’s Legal Co-ordinator said. ‘I love my job and really appreciate the opportunity to become a specialist in housing. Some people think that housing is dull and boring, but it is essential to people’s wellbeing and happiness.’
Tom Forty, Social Investment Co-ordinator said, ‘With a background in regeneration, I was drawn to the Trident Social Investment Group. I fully support the ethos of the organisation and welcome the opportunity to develop my knowledge and skills that will enhance my career within the group’.
Tahir, Hannah and Tom are studying for their MSc Housing at De Montfort University in Leicester. www.tridentsocialinvestmentgroup.com
