West North West tenants bid to become a Leeds Community Star

Residents across Leeds are being encouraged to nominate individuals and successful community projects for the Leeds Community Stars Awards 2012.

The awards run by West North West, Aire Valley and East North East Homes along with Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation, will acknowledge achievements in categories including Resident of the Year, Best Community Initiative and Most Innovative Project. 

The Leeds Community Stars Awards will celebrate the hard work and initiative of individuals  and groups. Nominations are now required for the following categories:

  • Resident of the Year
  • Young Resident of the Year (under 21)
  • Resident Group of the Year
  • Best Community Initiative
  • Most Innovative Project
  • Green Initiative 

All the nominations will be entered into the running for the Special Recognition Award which will be decided by the judges, and the Peoples Choice Award which will be open to the public to vote for through the community stars website. 

The nation’s leading energy supplier British Gas, two of the country’ leading repair and maintenance companies Mears and Morrison, supermarket ASDA and tenant organisation  Leeds Tenant Federation have agreed to support the awards which will take place in July 2012. 

Entries are now being accepted for the Leeds Community Stars Awards which will take place on Thursday 5 July 2012. The deadline for entries is Friday 20 April 2012.
