Network Stadium Housing Association officially opened Luma in November, a £26 million landmark residential development in Park Royal, North West London, to provide key workers with affordable accommodation near to Central Middlesex Hospital where many of the new residents work.
Network Stadium built Luma to meet the needs of the hospital's staff and to provide accommodation for other key workers such as teachers and police.
Of the 145 homes available, 75% will be let to health service employees and 25% will be let to other key workers and professionals who live or work in Brent. Eighty-seven units are for intermediate rent for key workers which are managed by London Strategic Housing Association, and 58 are set aside for shared ownership.
Sophie Silvera is a nursing assistant who moved into Luma House with her children in June. She said: "Before I was living in private accommodation and it was so much more expensive than now. The whole process of moving in went smoothly and the flat is lovely. My children are really happy there."
Mrs Leshen lives in a three-bedroom flat. "We are happy living here, I love it. It's really relaxing to go home after a hard day's work or after school to a place where it is clean, spacious and elegant (or "posh" as my friends call it) because of the appliances and state-of-the-art kitchen and bathroom."
Eusebio Barata, Managing Director of Network Stadium said: "We are proud of this new development which provides affordable accommodation for the fantastic doctors, nurses and teachers who serve the public by playing a vital role in supporting communities. Luma is part of Network Stadium's commitment to invest in the local communities we serve."
