Christmas arrived early for several deserving Russet residents this year, as they received Christmas Hampers kindly donated by Open Hands, a local charity based in Tonbridge.

Members of Russet staff nominated tenants and families who they thought would appreciate a hamper as they had recently experienced some personal difficulty.

Residents, young and old were thrilled with their surprise hampers which contained festive items such as tinsel and crackers, chocolate Yule log and mince pies.

One family were so pleased that they phoned to speak to individual members of staff to say thank you and also brought in a Christmas card the same day they received their hamper!

To show their appreciation for all the help that Open Hands has provided for vulnerable residents throughout the year, such as shopping vouchers and new home starter packs, staff at the Russet office in Tonbridge are saving the money they would have spent on office Christmas cards and donating it all to Open Hands instead.

Local residents have also been invited to join Open Hands at their Christmas Party and enjoy a bouncy castle, craft activities, and festive refreshments.

Part of Circle Anglia – one of the UK’s largest providers of affordable housing in the UK, Russet Homes own and manage around 6,600 properties in Tonbridge and Malling.
