Lot's of people are using TenantBook.co.uk to connect and share information or form a communities either in their area or with others up and down the country. The Board Development Agency have taken the lead and launched a free social networking site especially for social housing organisations called TenantBook.co.uk
There is a great new Tenant Home Swap group that has just been launched on TenantBook. The aim is to get landlords to send details round to all their tenants of this swap group, which is the new place to register their interest in a transfer. Another TenantBook member has created a notice board where anyone can put information about current consultations that are taking place. The notice board is also a place where people can share any new developments in the housing sector. There is already some really useful information on here.
Some of the other groups so far are Loughborough Estate Management Board who are a group of board members and Magna Housing Group Board Group. These groups are closed and not open to anyone to join and are a great tool for residents groups and board members to communicate with each other and share information. Other groups are more open.
A very useful new group is the new consultation and communications group where anyone can join and debate issues around communicating and consulting with tenants. There is a great group of Tenant Management Organisations (TMOs). There are already some great discussions going on in this group including how will local authority cuts affect TMOs? Discussions are already taking place here about generating income streams as one solution to cuts- one idea was to develop shopping portals.
So why not join tenantbook and look at some of the groups there are. If there isn't one that fits your interest or need, you can set one up. It's so easy just go to TenantBook.co.uk!
