Tenantbook, the new social networking site for the housing sector recently celebrated its 100th member. To commemorate this, the Board Development Agency who run the site, gave £100 to the 100th member, to donate to a charity of their choice.
Dawn Holland was the 100th member who received the prize and she donated the cheque for £100 to her chosen charity Emmaus Sheffield. Dawn said:
“Wow! Thanks for the donation. I would like it to go to Emmaus in Sheffield. Emmaus Communities offer homeless people a home, work and the chance to rebuild their lives in a supportive environment. There are currently 19 Communities around the UK and several more in development.”

Hugh Laird from the Board Development Agency says:
“I am thrilled that we passed the 100th member marker so quickly on TenantBook after launching only weeks ago. This is growing fast and we are today up to 168 members and have everyone represented that has an involvement with social housing. Staff, board members, scrutiny groups and tenants have all registered. There are all sorts of groups set up now who are bringing up topics and discussions that are relevant to the social housing sector. Our aim is to have 1,000 people using the site by the end of 2010.”
www.TenantBook.co.uk is a chance for tenants, landlords and their staff to network with each other from the comfort of their armchair, desk or by using their mobile phone.
TenantBook is very easy for anyone to use and has a number of applications. It can be used to consult with and involve tenants or it could be used to find information about what other housing organisations are doing. To get involved go to www.TenantBook.co.uk or call the Board Development Agency on 0844 800 6887.
