Sue Westwater and Alan Rogers at Vicinity Group Head Office
Two north west housing associations have appointed new managing directors to take them forward from September this year.
The appointment of Sue Westwater to Liverpool Housing Trust (LHT) managing director and Alan Rogers to managing director of Cobalt Housing (Cobalt) has been welcomed by board and management at both organisations and the parent organisation, Vicinity Group. These posts became available as Dave Lambert, who has held the joint MD role for LHT and Cobalt since 2007, will leave later this year.
Vicinity Group chief executive, Phil Gandy stated: “Dave Lambert has worked for LHT since 1980 and as managing director of Cobalt Housing since its creation in 2003. He has been instrumental in the excellent position that LHT is in today and pivotal to Cobalt’s achievements over the past seven years.
Dave’s retirement will mark the end of an era for this organisation, however, it will allow our new MDs to take up the reins at what is a challenging time, but also a time of opportunity and potential.”
Sue Westwater has moved from the position she has held for the past four years at LHT, director of planning & strategy, to take up her new role as LHT managing director. Sue has an impressive track record in the housing sector and was director of housing at Contour Housing Group prior to joining LHT.
Sue said: “I am delighted to be offered this opportunity as the past few years at LHT have been challenging and rewarding. LHT has an excellent reputation and I look forward to making sure that we continue to deliver the best possible service for our tenants.”
Alan Rogers has over 25 years housing and regeneration experience and has led LHT’s regeneration team for the past five years, previously working for Liverpool City Council and Riverside Housing.
Alan commented: “My approach to taking Cobalt forward will be to consolidate and build on where Cobalt is today. Cobalt has achieved so much on behalf of their tenants since 2003 and has made a positive difference in the neighbourhoods where they work. I look forward to being part of the Cobalt ‘family’ and working with everyone to shape its future.”
