Stroma Certification is proud to announce Dr Mark Charlesworth’s nomination to participate in the production of the IPCC’s (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) fifth assessment report (AR5).

Dr Charlesworth, Quality Manager for Stroma Certification, has been nominated by the UK Government as a possible contributor to the IPCC’s fifth assessment report, due to be completed by 2013-2014. The IPCC is an international organisation tasked with objectively evaluating the extent to which human activity is responsible for climate change and the resulting social, economic and environmental effects. The AR5 is the next of the IPCC’s specialist reports and will differ from the previous ones by exploring the socio-economic aspects of climate changes in more depth and examining the subsequent implications for sustainable development.

The nomination period finished on 12 March 2010 and the IPCC have yet to confirm which applicants have been selected. If successful, Dr Charlesworth will serve as a review editor, checking potential chapters of the final report.

Further details on the IPCC and the AR5 can be found at http://www.ipcc.ch/.
