Charlotte Claughton joins St Georges Community Housing
A trainee surveyor post was created at St George’s Community Housing as part of a reorganisation of their Property Services team.
The successful applicant, Charlotte Claughton, joined the ALMO in January 2010 and is the first trainee post within the team, for St Georges. Charlotte is working in the Asset Management team, assisting the team to deliver improvement works to homes in the Basildon district.
Charlotte is currently involved in preparing specifications, managing the painting programme in sheltered schemes and supporting the window contract. Some of her tasks over the past 3 months have included preparing documentation for leaseholders, whose properties will form part of improvement programmes during 2010/11, carrying out specific investigations into landlord supply enquiries and preparing planning applications for conservation areas.
She will be starting a two year post graduate programme which will result in a Masters qualification in Project Management in September 2010. Charlotte said:
“I’m looking forward to starting the painting programme and engaging with residents in our sheltered schemes.”
Steve Shynn, Interim Chief Executive said:
“I think it is fantastic that Charlotte has joined the team, and is training with us. We are a learning organisation and like to invest in our staff, as we believe in their potential and Charlotte is a great example of this.
“Charlotte has joined St Georges at an exciting time, particularly with the start of our Decent Homes improvements across the District. I’m sure she will be kept busy and learn a huge amount in the process. I wish her every success throughout her training and for the future.”
St Georges Community Housing was established as an Arms Length Management Company (ALMO) in April 2007 and manages Basildon District Council’s 12,900 homes and 5,900 garages. It works in partnership with the council and its residents to develop communities in which people are proud to live.
